**Introduction**:
**Responsibilities of the position include, but may not be limited to**:
- Work closely with various members of the ICES Indigenous Partnerships, Data and Analytics (IPDA) team to create knowledge products for First Nations, Métis, Inuit and urban Indigenous Communities and organizations;
- Work with the IPDA team on a strategy and related materials for raising awareness of ICES and how Indigenous communities and organizations can gain access their community data through the Applied Health Research Question (AHRQ) program;
- Engage with Indigenous communities or organizations to ensure knowledge products are accessible and tailored to the needs of each unique partner;
- Maintain connections with project team members from ICES Indigenous-led projects to ensure accuracy of evidence-based materials;
- Work across ICES departments to assess Knowledge Translation & Exchange (KTE) needs for Indigenous health projects, and support IPDA Director in strategy for expanding KTE capacity;
- Work with IPDA team to support development of public facing materials including but not limited to external webpages, handouts, materials related to the ICES Indigenous Health Data Training program and other external capacity strengthening activities or initiatives;
- Work collaboratively to ensure communications and KTE efforts are aligned with Indigenous culture, world views, and epistemologies;
- Compile and maintain inventories of knowledge translation/evidence-informed best practice literature tools, resources and capacity building materials that are applicable to First Nations, Métis, Inuit and urban Indigenous populations;
- Evaluate KTE programs and vehicles on an ongoing basis, revise and refine efforts to ensure maximum effectiveness and impact;
- Other duties as may be assigned within the scope of this position.
**Knowledge, skills and abilities required**:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Science, Health or Social Science, Health Policy, Communications or related field;
- Experience working with First Nation, Métis, Inuit individuals and communities;
- Experience with designing and implementing KT initiatives, and developing evidence-based tools and resources;
- Experience facilitating community consultations and integrating local Indigenous knowledge into KT materials;
- Familiarity with Indigenous research methodologies, approaches and ethical requirements (e.g., OCAP®) and a willingness to learn about Indigenous data governance;
- Superior communications skills; proven ability to create welcome and comfortable space for difficult conversations with diverse audiences; and maintains strict confidence, as required;
- Proven ability to read and understand scientific literature, and experience with translating research materials into accessible language for both general and targeted audiences;
- Collaborative working style with demonstrated success in a team-based environment;
- Proficient in using Canva or other similar program; graphic design and/or webpage design abilities an asset;
- Organizational skills and the proven ability to manage multiple projects, workflows and timelines;
- Ability to work independently, reliably and to take initiative;
- Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite.
