We are a building supply and project centre providing project providing contractors and do-it yourself builders with the tools, materials, design, and construction services to support projects of any scale.
Matix Lumber services all sector of the building industry and offer a comprehensive selection of quality lumber and building materials manufactured by North America’s leading producers. We provide contractors, avid builders DIYers, and community leaders the tools, construction service, and design expertise to support residential and commercial projects - from start to finish. We believe in building collaborative, mutually beneficial relationships with everyone we work with and have been able to achieve this through our industry experience, sound project execution, and visionary thinking.
- Assist with the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll.
- Ensure timesheets and attendance records are collected, reviewed, and submitted accurately and on time.
- Track employee vacation, sick time, and other leave balances via our HRIS System.
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and statutory deductions.
- Support job postings and advertising across various platforms in an administrative function.
- Schedule interviews between applicants and hiring managers.
- Assist with employment letters, reference checks, and pre-employment administrative documentation.
- Maintain HR records and personnel files with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Track and support safety compliance initiatives and maintain related documentation.
- Support the coordination of employee training, meetings, and other HR initiatives as needed.
- Assist in compiling HR metrics, reports, and compliance-related tracking.
- Act in a back-up capacity for the Executive Assistant if required.
- Maintain boardrooms and common areas and order / tend to supplies as needed.
- Other assigned duties as required.
- A minimum of 1-3 years' experience in an HR Support role (experience with payroll is considered an asset).
- Experience with payroll systems (ex. ADP, Payworks, Ceridian, etc.) is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to demonstrate professionalism and integrity including the ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
