**Scope**:
Responsible for providing research, statistical analysis and management information services in support of the Pay Equity process.

The Pay Equity Analyst will support in closing the wage gap and calculating wages to provide equal pay for equal work.

**Key Functions & Accountabilities**:

- Provide analytical support in the design, development and cost modelling of a robust Pay Equity plan for Air Canada.
- Work closely with the Manager, Compensation Development in support of the pay equity program and ensure compliance in all steps of the process.
- Develop and implement effective communication plans.
- Work in collaboration with the Managing Director, Total Rewards and HR Shared Services on the preparation of reports, presentations and information retrieval for the Board meetings.
- Evaluate jobs to determine the value of a position based on the responsibilities of the employee; assessed against the value of other positions.
- Responsible for the custody and maintenance of a job description log.
- Maintain an internal Pay Equity database including documenting all meeting notes, ratings for all jobs, rating rationales, records and pay equity materials.
- Perform in-depth statistical research including market surveys in support of Pay Equity and other Compensation programs.
- Research historical pay rates to understand the root causes of any pay inequity that currently exists
- Provide analysis to determine differences in wages that can be tied to gender, race or age, taking into consideration, group size, measurable criteria and type of compensation.
- Actively contribute to building new reports, trackers and databases related to Pay Equity.
- Provide advise to managers and employees on compliance requirements related to the federal Pay Equity policy.
- Create Pay Equity training materials. Participate in the selection and training of members for job evaluation committees.
- Maintain awareness/knowledge of industry and legislative developments.
- Ensure that the Company adheres to Federal laws surrounding Pay Equity, including reporting requirements.
- Act as a representative on Air Canada's Pay Equity Committee and play a key role representing the Pay Equity team for presentations and meetings with Labour Relations and the various labour groups.

**Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree in related field or HR certificate or equivalent experience
- HR Professional designation or CCP designation, an asset
- Must have 2- 5 years of compensation knowledge and experience.
- Knowledge and experience in Pay Equity, as asset.
- Proven ability to work with others at all levels using tact and discretion. Must be able to explain, clarify and defend conclusions reached and to present facts clearly both verbally and in writing
- Strong effective communicator in writing, business presentations and interpersonal communication
- Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality
- Possess a strong aptitude for research, analysis and data management
- Strong analytical ability and competent spreadsheet and database skills
- Highly autonomous with solid organization and work planning abilities; highly adaptable to shifting priorities
