Founded in 1974, Woodsworth College has become a thriving community of over 5500 students, with approximately one-third of students being part-time. **Your responsibilities will include**:

- Advising students on educational plan, program and/or course requirements by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
- Advising on the appropriateness, precedents and process for petitions and appeals, and suggesting alternative course of action as necessary
- Reviewing and approving changes to degree requirements for exceptional cases
- Facilitating educational workshops and seminars
- Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
- Resolving issues within the scope of the role and escalating problems as required
- Providing proactive support to individuals in distress and making referrals to specific university services

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum four (4) years of recent and related experience advising and/or counselling skills students in student service and/or academic advising role at a post-secondary education institution
- Experience with ROSI, with advance skills.
- Experience advising students from diverse backgrounds
- Experience conducting presentations and information sessions
- Experience preparing reports
- Experience updating websites
- Experience with Slate
- Advanced advising and/or counselling skills with a demonstrated ability to problem solve
- Excellent customer services skill, with a strong commitment to service excellence
- Demonstrated advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint
- Must be able to cope with a constantly changing and complex set of academic regulations
- Accurate keyboarding skills
- Superior oral and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills, showing initiative and good judgement, and also the ability to work cooperatively and be an effective team member
- Must have sound judgment and ability to deal with challenging student issues, and a commitment to access and diversity is required
- Demonstrated attention to detail with strong organizational skills
