The PSB is seeking an Educational Assistant who will be play a vital role within the overall school team, under the direction of the classroom teacher, to facilitate the integration, growth, learning, safety and comfort of students with a variety of educational, emotional and behavioural needs.

**What Your Role Will Look Like**:

- Personal Care Support including feeding, dressing, toileting and daily hygiene;
- Assist teachers in implementing IEP/TAP/BSP (Individualized Education Plan, Transition Action Plan/Behaviour Support Plan) strategies/objectives;
- Provides instructional support to students to implement educational programs as determined by the teacher/resource team/administrator and provide students feedback for completion of daily work;
- Documents, files and maintains records as it relates to student;
- Demonstrate strategies that will assist students in achieving growth;
- Fosters student independence and appropriate peer interactions;
- Follow teacher’s verbal/written plans;
- Assist teachers in preparing materials;
- Other duties as requested.

**Qualifications must include**:

- Successful completion of Human Services Program at Holland College or recognized Equivalent;
- Training and experience of ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis)/IBI (Intensive Behaviour Intervention);
- Training and experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder;
- Demonstrated ability to do lifts and transfers;
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively;
- Demonstrated ability to track and use data;
- Experience collecting data and implementing behaviour plans;
- Physical ability and willingness to work with physically aggressive students;
- Current Standard First Aid & CPR;
- Good previous work and attendance record;
- Current NVCI training is preferred;
- Applicant must have on file or submit a current Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check and have no past or present criminal record which would be detrimental in working in an environment with children, youth, and other adults.

**The following would be considered an asset**:

- Experience with AAC and non-verbal students;
- Additional training with supporting students with ASD;
- Experience with school aged students;
- Ability to support students who are deemed a “flight risk”;
- Ability to be creative and flexible with implantation of student programming.
- Applications may be considered for those that do not meet the Educational Requirements for role, would receive 90% of wage rate stated as per CUPE 3260 Agreement.
