Job Summary

In the position of Insurance Advisor, you will represent the Westland Insurance Group company brand and values, providing exceptional insurance service and trusted advice to our clients.

You will bring together personal lines insurance knowledge with strong technical skills to assess clients’ home, auto and lifestyle insurance needs. In particular, inquire into the clients’ full insurance needs and recommends products, coverage discounts, promotes new programs and works to exceed the customers expectation.

You are essential in helping to achieve the Company and branch business goals. You demonstrate strong ability in client service, quality underwriting and team collaboration.

**Responsibilities**:
Professionally represent Westland Insurance’s brand and company values.

Engage with clients to determine their insurance needs and provide trusted advice to ensure they are offered the best insurance coverage and protection for their lifestyle.

Education and promote new business opportunities, programs and coverages, in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Handle all tasks and client inquiries in accordance with established timelines, and written policies and procedures ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

Maintain documentation of client accounts and policies in accordance with established procedures, keeping thorough notes on activities and correspondence.

Manage client complaints and concerns, escalating where appropriate to leadership.

Identify and use judgement in underwriting to ensure profitable business.

Handle underwriter requests for information such in accordance to established procedures and privacy of personal information.

Stay informed on Westland news, carrier updates, and industry developments.

Participate in the claims process by engaging with the client during the process, respond to client and claims team for policy inquiries.
Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy for Errors & Omissions (E&O) prevention. Escalate foreseeable or current Errors and Omissions immediately to the Branch Manager.

Engage with Management and colleagues to promote and foster positive and collaborative team dynamics.

Adhere to the Company and provincial Insurance Professional Code of Conduct

Perform other assigned duties as directed by Management.

Key Relationships

**Reporting to**: Branch Manager (or Assistant Branch Manager).

**Interacting with**: Clients, management, insurance partners, shared services

Experience and Qualifications

Grade 12, plus one year of formal education preferred.
Level 1 General Insurance License in residence of province and prepared to obtain Level 2 within the first year of employment.
Minimum one year insurance experience.
Strong knowledge of personal lines insurance underwriting.
Committed to professional development, ideally working towards CAIB or CIP designation.
