Production Supervisor

**GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for front-line leadership in day-to-day operations of a designated production team to include safety, quality, efficiencies, and meeting customer expectations. Provides overall direction to production floor employees in the areas of production, scheduling, performance management, training and other related areas striving to improve overall operational efficiencies.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 3 - 5 years supervisory experience in manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Operations Management certification desired
- Demonstrated working knowledge of KPI’s (Key performance indicators)
- LEAN/Six Sigma experience an asset
- Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner
- Previous Labor Relations experience
- Understanding OEE (overall equipment efficiency) - calculation breakdown and performance improvement
- Experience with injection molding processes
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a cooperative environment
- Supervisory or lead hand experience with demonstrated leadership skills, working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Good knowledge and understanding of product codes and packaging specifications
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good mathematical and organizational skills
- Basic understanding of inventory control
- Basic computer and data entry skills, Microsoft Office (proficient in Excel)
- First Aid certified or ability to be certified.
- Ability to remain calm and poised in urgent situations.

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Motivate, train, instruct and evaluate performance of team members.
- Execute production in accordance with the production schedule as well as quality, GMP and productivity standards
- Measure and monitor KPI’s around efficiency, downtime, inventory, and overall production.
- Respond to production problems on the floor. Troubleshoot and adjust equipment if qualified
- Attend to problems with support equipment where capable
- Responsible for accurate entry and validation of production data into the SAP system
- Lead daily shift meetings with production employees
- Participate in Continuous Improvement projects.
- Responsible to bring forward continuous improvement initiatives to improve OEE performance
- Change management skills
- All other responsibilities defined in the operating procedures for this position

**WORKPLACE SAFETY**
- Supervisor’s must ensure that all workers comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Act & regulations and the company’s Health & Safety Policy
- Actively engaged and participates in required safety, environmental and ergonomic meetings to ensure activities are improving a safe work environment.
- Establishes and monitors shift performance for safety, quality and production standards. If standard is not achieved takes the necessary actions to ensure risk is minimized.
- Enforces company rules, regulations and policies, safe practices and good housekeeping in all production related activities.
