Ohs Coordinator

Fontaine Site Services is looking for an experienced OHS Coordinator to join our team. We pride ourselves in offering the best earth and civil works services to our clients, while maintaining a safe and friendly work environment to our employees.

The OHS Coordinator will be the main safety support for our multiple projects located across the Greater Vancouver and Sea to Sky Area. The OHS Coordinator will be required to travel to multiple sites and will be responsible for working collaboratively with several site project teams and sub-trades. They will be expected to implement and monitor the site-specific safety plan to ensure compliance, report any concerns, and implement solutions in accordance with the Companies safety program.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Conduct regular job site inspections and submit detailed reports to the Superintendent and Safety team.
- Collect, review, and maintain various safety forms and permits, including FLHA, Ground Disturbance, Hot Work, and Leading Edge permits.
- Provide safety and environmental guidance to the Superintendent and field personnel.
- Review and track toolbox meeting minutes and hazard assessment forms for compliance and completeness.
- Ensure employees have appropriate training, certifications, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Review and analyze Site Safety Inspection Reports for trends and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct and facilitate safety orientations for new employees and subcontractors.
- Collect and review site-specific safe working and job procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Stay current with WorkSafe BC and OH&S regulations to maintain organizational compliance.
- Assist management with safety documentation, incident reporting, and administrative tasks.
- Ensure all safety documentation aligns with COR certification requirements.
- Educate workers on safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Support and lead incident response, notification, and investigation activities.
- Take immediate action to address and correct unsafe acts or conditions.
- Conduct area inspections to identify and mitigate safety, health, or environmental hazards.
- Support site management and employees in implementing and complying with safety programs.
- Participate in incident investigations and assist in preparing detailed reports and summaries.
- Maintain and track recordable statistics and training requirements to meet project-specific needs.
- Conduct risk assessments when changes occur in people, equipment, materials, environment, or processes.
- Display and maintain safety-related materials, including bulletins, posters, emergency plans, safety rules, and meeting records.
- Liaise with external construction and industry safety agencies to ensure best practices and compliance.
- Perform additional duties as required based on project and client needs.

**Qualifications**:

- Construction Safety Officer (CSO), Construction Safety Specialist (CSS) or National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification required.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in safety
- Current Fall Protection, and Advanced First Aid ticket (with transportation endorsement)
- A trade background (strongly preferred)
- Valid Driver License
- 5+ years of Health and Safety work experience in the construction industry.
- Extensive knowledge of WSBC regulations
- Experience with excavation, shoring, demolition & civil works would be an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $65,000.00-$68,000.00 per year
