Hours & Compensation
- Permanent Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 8:30am to 4:30pm = 7.5hr/day (shift may change based on location and needs of program.)
Pay Rate: $29.42 per hour (based on current funding)
Location: Mainly Willow River Childcare Centre 670 Thomas Slee Drive, Kitchener. But Floaters will be deployed to various Childcare buildings depending on daily needs of the program.

In this Role, you will contribute to the Community by...
- striving to support children with their overall physical, mental, and social development. You will guide and supervise learning opportunities based on children’s interests and foster cooperative social behaviours through games and group projects to support developmentally appropriate relationships with other children and adults. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills while fostering positive relationships with children, families, and team educators.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in the area of Early Childhood Education and development.
- Previous experience working with children
- Knowledge of and familiarity with the Child Care and Early Years Act and use of environmental assessment tools.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with staff, parents, children, and the public.

Mandatory Qualifications
- Registered Early Childhood Educator Diploma (and College registration #)
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check document
- Standard First Aid and CPR Level-C certification
- Vaccine Verification - As a condition of employment you are required to provide confirmation that you are vaccinated against COVID-19 or have proof of valid exemption satisfactory to the employer. The global YWCA movement traces its origins to the initiative of two women in England in 1855. Lady Mary Kinnaird and Emma Robarts established organizations to provide support for women during the industrial revolution. The two organizations merged in 1877, and the YWCA movement quickly spread to other countries, including Canada.

Though the YWCA was founded by devoted Christian women who were troubled about housing and community supports for local young women, and YWCA stands for Young Women’s Christian Association. But YW Kitchener-Waterloo has since evolved into a secular organization. In 2017, after a community consultation we refreshed our brand to become the YW, a simple representation of the unique organization that we are. Our legal name remains YWCA because it’s a part of our legacy, but we remain committed to inclusion and support regardless of race, religion, age or gender.
