**About SPRINT Senior Care**

We began caring for seniors and enabling seniors to care for themselves in 1983. We continue to do so today as an accredited, not-for-profit community support service agency in Toronto by offering a wide range of practical and low-cost services to seniors and their caregivers. Our services help seniors stay safe, connected, and live as independently as possible.

**Position Type**

Bargaining Unit Position; Full-Time, Contract (Contract Length: 8 Weeks)

**Schedule**

8 hour shift

35 per week

**Reports To**

Supervisor, Community Programs

**Location**

Various SPRINT Senior Care locations

**What you will do**

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to

  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and delivery of department activities.
  • Assist with gentle exercise programs and food security programs.
  • Socialize with clients.
  • Helping with setting up, serving and cleaning up for meal and wellness programs.
  • Program support including: packing and meal delivery to clients.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and projects.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

**What you will need**

  • Enrolled in or completed a post-secondary Social Service Worker, Healthcare, Activation, Social Work, Recreation, Gerontology, or Food and Nutrition
  • Program.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of food handling and food safety
  • Experience working with seniors and persons with dementia is an asset. This position is made possible through Canada Summer Jobs, an initiative of

**Wage**

$18.20 per hour
