**ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT**:
The Manager, Quality Assurance will be responsible for ensuring that our products and services meet regulatory requirements as well as the highest quality standards through the development, implementation and maintenance of comprehensive quality assurance processes.
**MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Develop, implement, review, and maintain internal processes, policies and procedures for QA auditing and quality control, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, standards, best practices, and customer expectations.
- Complete all internal and external audits based on International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Association of American Railroads (AAR) and Transport Canada (TC) and customer requirements/standards.
- Supervise, guide, coach and mentor QA inspectors and other staff within their scope of responsibility. to ensure team effectiveness and growth.
- Develop Inspection Test Plan (ITP) based on contract scope.
- Coordinate and manage QA inspections for all production contracts.
- Issue all non-conformances and follow-up on corresponding corrective actions.
- Issue exceptions to specifications.
- Deliver management and performance reviews for project compliance.
- Support all document control change process pertaining to QMS.
- Manage calibration of measuring and test devices and calibration software tracking system
- Manage all non-destructive testing (NDT) training for all shops.
- Liaison with engineering firms regarding development and maintenance for all D15.1 Railroad Welding Specification for Cars and Locomotive and Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) welding programs.
- Establish quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product/service quality and drive continuous improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in quality assurance and incorporate them into our processes and procedures.
- Drive a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization by promoting awareness and accountability at all levels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, operations, and customer support to address quality issues and drive quality improvements throughout the organization.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- 2 year College Diploma Engineering Technician (Electrical, Industrial or Mechanical)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance and quality management systems
- Experience in a leadership or managerial role
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Training from a recognized registrar
- Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Manager of Quality (CMQ) from the American Society for Quality is a definite asset
- Strong understanding of quality management systems, methodologies, and tools (e.g., ISO, AAR, TC, Lean Manufacturing).
- Proven track record of implementing successful quality assurance programs and driving measurable improvements in product/service quality
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective corrective actions
- Technical knowledge of locomotives and passenger and freight cars is an asset
- Good knowledge of MS Office and databases
