As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Personal Support Worker (PSW) works under the

direction of the Nursing Unit Coordinator or Nursing Manager and in conjunction with the

RN/RPN, performing assigned functions that support the team in the delivery of patient care.

**Hours of Work**:Rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights, and weekends), as required.**

**Pay Rate**: Will be in accordance with the S.E.I.U. Local 1, Canada Service Workers

Collective Agreement for Personal Support Worker Classification.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
Secondary School Graduation Diploma;
Personal Support Worker Certificate from a recognized College;
B.C.L.S. Current Certificate.

Eligibility to becoming a HSCPOA PSW registrant, preferred.

**Experience**:
Experience working with resident/patients with complex physical needs.

**Required Skills**:
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing education;
Demonstrates a positive attitude;
Ability to function in crisis situations;
Demonstrated awareness of patient centered care with the ability to work
in a team environment;
Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate
effectively, courteously and tactfully;
Maintains friendly, caring and responsive attitude toward patient care;
Must have annual review education completed;
Must have previous proven good performance and attendance record.
