**Registered Social Worker - Perinatal Mental Health**

**Location: Hamilton, Ontario (In-person; Virtual; Walk-and-Talk)**

**Type: Independent Contractor Position**

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide individual psychotherapy to support individuals experiencing perinatal mental health challenges including but not limited to: birth trauma, fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, relationship stress, overwhelm, hopelessness, worry, anger, grief, identity changes, parenting roles and expectations arising from the perinatal transition.
- If you have other specialities (i.e. couples counselling, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, children's mental health) we are happy to hear about your additional areas of expertise and what you would like to offer in addition to treating perinatal mental health.

**Qualifications and Requirements**
- Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
- Minimum 2+ years of experience providing psychotherapy
- Proof of liability insurance
- Demonstrated skills in perinatal mental health and trauma. EMDR or other bottom-up approach is considered an asset and will attract more referrals. (Training completed by an approved Perinatal program or documentation showing you are prepared to complete the program)
- Special consideration to individuals with lived experience with fertility, perinatal loss, perinatal mental health, parenthood
- Expertise in a variety of therapeutic models such as CBT; DBT; EFT; IFS; EMDR; ACT; Gottman Method.
- Open to providing walk-and-talk therapy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Comfortable with in-person and virtual therapy modalities.
- Access to a secure and private environment for virtual sessions.
- All remote work necessities, including excellent internet connection, a designated professional workspace and backdrop, and a reliable computer, ability to trouble-shoot technology.
- Adherence to ethical guidelines and standards of practice including timely documentation and completion of client billing.
