**Job description**

**Jobs and Responsibilities**:

- Troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic control circuits, and mechanical failures.
- Electrical/mechanical preventative maintenance; troubleshoot, diagnose, repair of machines.
- Install, operate and maintain electrical and electronic equipment and systems.
- Calibrate electrical and electronic equipment and instruments according to technical manuals and written instructions.
- Conduct tests on assemblies and installations; record and analyze results.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance work as required or assigned including tool set-ups.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems.
- Provide other support to all members of the Maintenance department.
- Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Lead Hand.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Degree in a related field from an accredited institution (i.e. Electro/Mechanical Technologist).
- A Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or Certified Technician (C.Tech.) an asset.
- At least 3 years of experience in a Maintenance Mechanic, C.E.T., or related role,ideally in a food manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in inspecting, testing and adjusting electronic/mechanical components.
- Experience installing, maintaining and servicing various types of equipment.
- Experience with extrusion machinery considered an asset.
- The ability to learn new systems and equipment quickly and independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- The ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Strong problem-solving / critical thinking skills and, the ability to multitask.
- The ability to work overtime and flexible with shift timings.
