**Overview**:
The Student Progress and Outreach Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting student success at Lakehead University. Reporting to the Associate Registrar, Registrarial Services, this position focuses on providing accurate advising to students, particularly those deemed at risk or requiring additional support, to help them achieve their academic goals.

In this role, you will also design and deliver programming to empower students with the skills to register for courses, understand program requirements, and interpret academic standing. With a student-centered approach, the Coordinator fosters a culture of exceptional student satisfaction and success by ensuring students have the tools and guidance needed to thrive in their academic journey.

**Responsibilites**:

- Monitor students' progression to provide intervention support when students encounter difficulties, including students who stop out from their studies.
- Develop mechanisms to understand, monitor and track progression and stop outs.
- Liaises with support services to ensure students are on track and supported personally and academically to achieve goals.
- Monitor and review students' year-level progression and academic standing ensuring adherence to Faculty and department requirements, policies, and regulations.
- Update academic standing processes annually and ensure accurate changes are reflected on the student’s record and student information system.
- Design and implement comprehensive registration programs with a focus on key student populations and important milestones in the student lifecycle associated with registration (e.g. new student registration, add/drop periods, the start of new terms, etc).
- Develop webinars, in-person events, and outreach campaigns to support students with navigating registration to support timely course selection and academic progression.
- Conduct graduation assessments for fall, winter and spring graduation
- Provide support to the Manager of Curriculum Development, Delivery, and Convocation regarding graduation and Convocation for students, including managing all student inquires.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree
- Three to five years of experience in a student service/advisory role with the demonstrated ability to respond to student needs
- Strong working knowledge of University policies and procedures, undergraduate program offerings and requirements, transfer credit, course requirements and regulations, the Academic Calendar
- Demonstrated knowledge of recruitment and retention theory along with appreciative advising
- Demonstrated knowledge of Colleague as it pertains to Registrarial Services
- Working knowledge of FIPPA
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word and Excel along with Informer reporting
