**Summary**:
This position is responsible for unloading oil railcars/trucks, performing minor mechanical, painting, plumbing, and carpentry repairs throughout the facility, as well as minor snow clearing, sanding, and groundskeeping.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Performs and/or assists in the completion of work orders as assigned.
- Performs and/or assists in preventative maintenance, as well as building maintenance tasks (minor paining, plumbing, and carpentry) as directed.
- Performs off-load and transfer of oil between railcars or trucks, and oil storage tanks. Moves railcars as needed.
- Completes paperwork associated with oil samples transfer, including FFA’s, COA’s, and daily temperatures.
- Operates the following pieces of equipment on a regular basis:

- front-end loader
- forklifts
- track mobile
- truck
- Minor snow clearing and sanding / groundskeeping of Plant property.
- Maintains work areas in a clean and functional condition.
- Ensures Food Safety by following all Good Manufacturing Practices and policies.
- Ensures attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position and incorporates acquired skills and knowledge. This includes lockout/tagout, confined space, and hot work/fire watch training.
- Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies.
- Ensures self-compliance with Company policies and procedures and the Collective Agreement.
- Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a participative management style consistent with operational goals.
- Conducts self in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function and while representing the Company.
- Ensures that additional accountabilities required by management be handled in a manner necessary to meet operational and divisional standards

**Relevant Experience**:

- 6+ months related experience and/or training

**Basic Qualifications**:

- Must have successfully completed the Job Skill Evaluation to begin training in the position. Must complete the Structured Job Training program within recommended timeframe to remain in the position permanently.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division as required.
- Must be able to read and interpret written instructions, manuals, material safety data sheets, and drawings. Must be able to communicate well both written and verbally.
- Must have manual and physical dexterity in both hands. Must possess good hand/eye coordination.
- Must possess ability to operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and front-end loaders.
- Must be able to use measuring devices such as tape measures, scales, and calipers accurately.
- Must be able to identify basic maintenance tools such as grinders, drills, wrenches, etc.
- Must be able to safely operate power and shop tools such as hand grinders, drills, etc.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must have a working knowledge of basic safety practices.
- Must be able to work in extreme environments (cold, hot, humid and slippery) both inside and outside of the Plant.
- Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks on a regular basis.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and heights.
- Must have an acceptable safety and attendance record.
- Must be able to work well with all personnel.
- Must be able to work in stressful situations.
- Must be able to identify hazards and report to appropriate personnel.
