**Position Overview**
SUMMARY:
**Criminal Check**
As a pre-condition of employment:
- All new HGH employees will be required to obtain and provide a satisfactory Police Records Check dated within six (6) months from the date of issue.
- As of now, HGH will require all employees, physicians, learners, contractors and volunteers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
**What we are looking for**
Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in middle management as an asset.
- Recent clinical experience in Medical/Surgical unit.
- Member of the College of Nurses of Ontario or current registration with relevant professional college.
**Skills**:
- Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change.
- Ability to supervise personnel and communicate the portfolio’s needs and patient care services mission.
- Demonstrated clinical skills and judgment in an acute setting.
- Advocate for professional practice, patient/family centered quality care.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, problem solve and implement change management
- Excellent people, time management, conflict management, financial management and organization skills;
- The Clinical Manager must be able to understand the LEAN philosophy in order to participate in projects that improve care and achieve positive impacts on transitions and changes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage numerous and diverse activities, organizing and prioritizing appropriately to meet demands, expectations and deadlines.
- Manage overtime approval and employee re-deployment
- Highly computer literate and skilled in use of MS Office
- Knowledge of CUPE and ONA collective agreements and experience working in a unionized environment
- Good communication skills in French and English, both oral and written
