**Job purpose**
Responsible for engineering projects by managing day to day engineering and technical aspects of projects. Including to develop, monitor and manage project schedules to meet KPIs.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
The associate’s primary functions and responsibilities are as follows:
- Lead projects through the project management lifecycle
- Assign and plan projects and task for project coordinator.
- Complete all project-related documentation and deliverables
- Develop, monitor, and manage the project lifecycle
- Research potential solutions and gather information for projects
- Present scope of work to internal stakeholders for project review
- Manage the operational and tactical aspects of large-scale projects, in a fast-paced, dynamic, matrixed environment.
- Maintain constant follow up with engineering director on status of current and ongoing assigned projects.
- Design and update of layouts with computer aided software.
- Identify specific safety hazards associated with planned activities.
- Prepare, validate scope of work for new projects and initiatives.
- Budget preparation and presentation related to Scope of work initiatives.
- Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations and commit to ensure a safe environment for all team members
- Synergize with third party contractors to perform Work Orders deemed as work that cannot be performed by an RDJ labour source, i.e. Building Maintenance.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures
**Qualifications**
- Degree required in a technical field and 1 - 3 years of scheduling / planning experience and/or 5 - 10 years as a machine repair technician, or equivalent combination of both.
- Demonstrated knowledge/Experience of successful project management.
- Computer aided design experience (CAD)
- Experience in an industrial environment preferred.
- Electrical/mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (SAP preferred).
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
- Project management and capital project experience preferred.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
**Working conditions**
- Always work indoors.
- Compliant with ventilation, cleanliness, space, lighting and temperature.
**Physical requirements**
- Sitting involved.
- May repeat the same movement.
- Typing involved.
