**Position Overview**
We are seeking an experienced and passionate **Instructor** to support our **Introduction to Directing** class. This role involves guiding students through a 7-week course (one day per week) to help them develop a strong foundation in directing for film and video. The position can be performed **online** with occasional **in-person sessions** as needed.

**Responsibilities**
- Facilitate engaging weekly lessons to teach key principles of directing.
- The roles and responsibilities of a working director.
- Storytelling through cinematic tools, including camera and actor collaboration.
- Effective collaboration with a directing team.
- Script analysis to inform directorial decisions.
- Planning character movement to reflect the psychology of the scene.
- The creative and narrative use of camera placement, lens selection, shot content, and composition.
- Provide constructive feedback on student projects and exercises.
- Encourage students to think critically and creatively about their directing choices.
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative learning environment.

**Qualifications**
- Proven experience in film directing or related roles within the film industry.
- Previous teaching or mentoring experience (preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong understanding of the technical and creative aspects of directing, including working with actors and crew.
- Familiarity with script analysis, shot composition, and visual storytelling techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to teach effectively in both online and in-person formats.

**Commitment**
- **Schedule**: One session per week for 7 weeks.
- **Location**: Online with occasional in-person sessions as required.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 7 weeks

Pay: $50.00 per hour
