**Job Description**
**What you're responsible for**
- Managing a team of Health and Safety Advisors & Coordinators.
- Managing the coordination of crisis situations and act as a key resource to partners and relevant authorities.
- Participating in the creation and implementation of the health and safety strategic plan and overall health and safety program.
- Coaching, advising and supporting operations teams to develop an accident prevention culture.
- Ensuring consistent delivery of the health and safety program, including the implementation of policies, programs, and processes to report and improve existing occupational health and safety practices and investigations.
- Collaborating with managers, supervisors and HR business partners to implement proactive and preventive work safety solutions.
- Conducting site visits and spot audits.
- Monitoring and reporting health and safety KPIs and develop a regional plan with Site Manager and operational teams to improve them.
- Working in partnership with the Site Manager to ensure compliance with provincial health and safety regulatory requirements.
- Promoting communication of overall H&S strategic plan and share best health and safety practices across all sites and departments.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in health and safety, Industrial Relations, Human Resources or another equivalent field and/or relevant professional certification.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in health and safety management in manufacturing or heavy industry, including experience in a multi-site environment.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment and ability to adapt to constant changes impacting health and safety.
- Practical knowledge of applicable OHS legislation, standards, and regulations
- Strong communication skills to maintain good interpersonal relations with various stakeholders.
- An innovative and problem-solving mindset, constantly looking for creative ways to problem solve.
- Bilingualism (an asset)
