The Dock Master is located in Toronto, Ontario, and typically reports directly to the Facility Manager. Their primary focus is daily supervision of staff and day to day operations of the Dock and Freight services. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Organize, supervise and evaluate the daily operation of support staff ensuring that shift duties are outlined, assigned and managed
- Participate in daily operations and support service functions as needed or as scheduled (if applicable)
- Maintain responsibility for staff cross training to ensure the efficient operation of all assigned areas
- Conduct performance management responsibilities, including: motivating staff to achieve objectives, conducting performance appraisals, providing on-going coaching and feedback
- Participate in working groups and committee activities, as required
- Assist with planning activities and the development of goals and objectives for support staff areas
- Participate in Departmental Quality Management activities
- Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings and grievance meetings, as needed
- Participate in annual budget allocation/preparation
- Analyze, manage and communicate the monthly budget variances
- Manage departmental resources by ensuring the most economical and productive use of materials
- Oversee proper security and maintenance of equipment
- Plan and coordinate all Dock and Freight Elevator Activities
- Maintain Booking and Activity Logs

**EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**
- High School Diploma or equivalent

**WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- Supervisor or Manager experience is required
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a Dock Operations position

**SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid Ontario G Driver's License
- Security clearance requirements
