**About Us**:
The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of seven Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders and Food and Nutritional Sciences), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centers. The Faculty has more than 4,000 undergraduate students and more than 900 graduate students (200 PhD students).
**Course Information**:
The central purpose of this course is to examine the psychological bases of exercise and physical activity. Emphasis is placed on understanding the motives and barriers underlying involvement in exercise and physical activity, the psychological benefits derived from acute and chronic involvement, the situational and personal determinants associated with failure to initiate and/or adhere to exercise and physical activity programs, the theoretical perspectives advanced to account for involvement, and intervention strategies used to stimulate and/or maintain involvement in exercise and physical activity.
**Responsibilities**:
You will be responsible for all activities associated with the successful delivery of the course, including but not limited to: developing, preparing, and delivering the course; setting and marking examinations, assessing the academic work of students, and reporting grades.
**Qualifications**:
In accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance, experience, and qualifications, including qualifications which go beyond the requirements for the position. Applicants should have fluent written and oral communication skills in English.
