Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Scientist to play a pivotal role in our data science initiatives, focusing on advanced analytics and data-driven insights. As a key member of our team, you will lead the charge in leveraging cutting-edge statistical methods and machine learning techniques while acknowledging the importance of traditional data analysis in driving informed decision-making.

Reporting to the team Lead Data Science, Analytics and Customer360 under the Director Data Driven Marketing, your role will be to leverage all the data captured by Cogeco to support a large array of initiatives, from supporting business stakeholders to better define business cases up to building and deploying models in production.

Primary Responsibilities

Data Analysis- Perform in-depth analysis of large and diverse datasets to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.- Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and provide actionable recommendations.Model development- Develop and implement custom data models and algorithms to deploy machine learning projects.- Use predictive modeling and rule based algorithms to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation and customer retention.- Assess existing AI solutions so that you do not re-create successful models by yourself (build vs. buy).- Contribute to transformation projects ensuring seamless integration of models into business processes.- Develop processes and tools to monitor model performance and data accuracy.

Collaboration- Drive organizational change by working with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to define business solutions in an iterative and collaborative manner.- Support data collection and go-to-market strategy for marketing campaigns.- Provide guidance on best practices in data science and contribute to a collaborative and innovative work environment.

- Academic Qualifications- Master in BI, Machine Learning, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science- Work Experience- 5-7 years as leading a data function in industrySpecific Skills- Understanding of underlying Machine Learning theory and the Predictive Modeling Life Cycle-
- Knowledge of data science frameworks: SQL, R, Python, Spark, Scala, or equivalent-
- Knowledge of machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn, Pytorch or equivalent-
- Strong problem solving, time management and work organization skills.-
- Strong knowledge of mathematics, statistics and computer science necessary to build and deliver machine learning models.-
- Solid understanding of modern data infrastructure. Skills within Google Cloud Platform, Big Query and VertexAI.-
- Ability to combine qualitative and quantitative insights-
- Strong business and product intuition, facilitating the alignment of data science initiatives with broader organizational goals.-
- Understanding of broad spectrum of methods and disciplines in data science, and the applicability of different techniques for different contexts, e.g. not just focused on deep learning-
- A continuous learning and growth mindset, staying abreast of the latest developments and advancements in the field.-
