Amgen British Columbia, located in Burnaby, is a research center of excellence focused primarily on the use of cutting-edge platform technology for the discovery of therapeutic antibodies. We are seeking talented, highly motivated students to join our core groups to learn and utilize skills in the field of biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, immunology, and bioinformatics. You will join one of the functional teams at Amgen British Columbia, partnering closely with a supervisor and contribute to projects that could potentially have a direct impact on human health.
**Essential Functions**:
- Participate in the development of novel experiments and methods.
- Utilize advanced fit-for-purpose laboratory instruments and systems.
- Application of the knowledge from researching literature to experiments.
- Experimental design, execution, and data analysis/documentation.
Join one of the functional teams at Amgen British Columbia:
- Binder discovery and characterization: antibody discovery by in vivo and in vitro platforms and high throughput screening technologies.
- Predictive Biology: building primary tumor organoids, optimizing the differentiation of stem cells into cells/ tissues of interest, and optimizing single cells screening to detect tumor cell killing

**Basic Qualifications**
- 18 years or older
- Currently enrolled in a full time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
- Completion of one year of study from an accredited from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
- Enrolled in a full time Bachelor’s degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
- Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Degree concentration(s) in Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Computer Science or related field
- Able to work for two consecutive four month terms
- General knowledge of cell biology, immunology, biochemistry & molecular biology
- Previous lab experience, completion of previous co-op term(s), or internship experience
- High attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Ability to function effectively as part of a team
- Excellent organizational, record keeping and time management skills

The base pay range for this opportunity in Canada is $45,000-55,000 CAD.
