**Retail Team Member - Etobicoke** **Attention Nature and Birding Enthusiasts** Urban Nature Store is a leader in the Wild Birding industry. Our customers come to us for a variety of high quality wild bird and nature-related products. From food to binoculars, specialty gifts and garden accessories. We are nature lovers and our customers rely on us for our expertise. Our customers are wild bird and nature enthusiasts and love to share their latest nature stories and photos with us. Urban Nature Store is seeking a part-time Team Member for our flagship Etobicoke, Ontario location at 100 The East Mall (427 & Queensway. Required Skills and Qualifications - 1 year of retail or service related experience (Pet, birding or garden sector experience would be an asset) - An interest in wild birding - Strong retail merchandising skills - Open availability - Days, evenings & weekends. - Ability to read, write and speak English - Basic math skills as it relates to retail sales - Intermediate computer skills - Ability to work independently - Ability to lift 50 lbs bags - Have a reliable means of transportation to and from the store - Enthusiasm for learning and personal growth. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will be responsible for: - interacting with customers and providing superior customer service, including recommending appropriate products and demonstrating their proper usage. - processing transactions on a computerized POS system - accepting all forms of payments (cash, debit, credit) - processing returns and exchanges - assisting with the maintenance of several Google spreadsheets - promotion of our loyalty rewards program - receiving bi-weekly shipments - filling seed from master to smaller bags - maintaining a clean, organized and well-merchandised store **Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent Part-time hours: 20-30 per week **Salary**: $15.00-$16.00 per hour **Benefits**: - Casual dress - On-site parking - Store discount Schedule: - Day shift - Every Weekend - Monday to Friday - Weekend availability COVID-19 considerations: The safety of our Team Members and customers is our top priority.
