**Position Title**:Paralegal**

**Department: Regulation, Québec**

**Location**:Montreal**

**Status: Permanent Full-time (Hybrid)**

The Paralegal will provide support to the Regional Director, Regulation, and to any other department, as needed.

The Paralegal will also be required to communicate with other departments within the organization, as well as with external contacts and other interested parties.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform legislative, regulatory and jurisprudential research (Canada and other jurisdictions)
- Carefully examine regulatory and legislative documents (Canada and other jurisdictions)
- Monitor the regulatory sector under the supervision of the Regional Director, Regulation
- Draft memoranda or other research support documents
- Manage committee meetings with external clientele (correspondence, preparation and presentation of agendas, minutes and reports, as required)
- Assist with the coordination of internal and external events
- Book venues and arrange setup
- Handle confidential information discreetly
- Perform administrative tasks such as drafting, proofreading and formatting documents, and managing correspondence

**Education and Experience**:

- College diploma (DEC) in Paralegal Technology or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2 years of paralegal experience (in either a law firm or regulatory organization)
- Knowledge of the operation of investment dealers and the securities markets, sales practices and rules/regulations of the securities industry would be an asset

**Key Skills and Competencies**:

- Bilingual
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
- Ability to multi-task and manage a high volume of document files
- Experience in conducting electronic legal research (ex. Lexis/Nexis)
- Proficiency in e-document management software
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
- Excellent spelling, grammar and proofreading skills
- Strong time-management skills, including ability to prioritize effectively
- Ability to take initiative and perform independently with mínimal supervision
- Team player with demonstrated customer service orientation
- Knowledge of the Canadian securities industry would be an asset
