**_The Role_**

The In-Class Driving Instructor will adhere to all Centre for Newcomers Policies and Procedures, Alberta Community and Social Services regulations, Career Development Association of Alberta’s (CDAA) professional ethics and ensure confidentiality of client information and client records as provided for under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP).

**_Specific Responsibilities: _**

Ø Providing initial, remedial, and skills upgrading training to learners as required.

Ø Preparing and coordinating all materials and resources for the in-class training for students pursuing a class 5 License.

Ø Keeping records of all students and making them readily accessible for any audit requirements by Alberta Transportation and working closely with the records department for data storage and other records-keeping practices.

Ø Delivering in-class driving training to learners based on the required number of hours specified in the program/work contract.

Ø Requesting and storing all training materials and manuals required to deliver in-class training.

Ø Keeping current on all changes to driver training standards and ensuring the learners are kept up to date with respect to any such changes.

Ø Responding to learner questions or complaints regarding the driver training provided

Ø Preparing, approving, and signing the course completion form for learners by verifying that their time requirements and grade standards have been achieved.

Ø Working closely with the project lead and other team members and generating input/support to ensure that program/training sessions are implemented as planned.

Ø Other required additional tasks as needed within the role.

**Qualifications**:
Ø Must be licensed from Alberta Transportation as a Certified Classroom Instructor

Ø At least 2 years of experience as an in-classroom driving instructor

Ø Clean driving abstract of 10 years

Ø Service-oriented: Culturally competent: familiar with serving clients from other cultures than your own; experience in working with immigrants and refuge

Ø Results-oriented: Demonstrates a focus on finishing all tasks assigned in a timely manner.

Ø Communication: Great communication skills both verbally and written; a second language is an asset.
