The primary function of the support staff is to ensure that EHN Sandstone - Canada operates in a manner that is consistent with the goals and objectives of the treatment program during those periods when the counselling and administrative staff are not available or on duty. **Duties and Responsibilities**: - Monitors all patient activities when counselling staff are not on the premises and ensures that such activities are conducted according to the "Patient Responsibilities", and/or the general operational procedures of the facility. - Conduct Meal Support groups with patients. - Conducting art & creativity groups with patients. - Conducts weekend support staff lead groups including self-discovery and clinical based groups under instruction from by clinical staff. - Ensures patients and facility are secure after all scheduled daily activities have been completed in the evening. - Makes themselves available to any patient experiencing difficulties and needing to talk to a staff member. - Immediately notifies the appropriate on call counselling staff, management staff or Medical Director in the event of any emergency or unusual circumstance. - Documents in the appropriate logbook any significant occurrences and a general impression of activities during the shift. - Participates in case consultation and treatment coordination with other members of multi-disciplinary team. - Administers first aid (if trained) in case of emergency while waiting for medical staff and/or emergency professionals to arrive. - Housekeeping and clerical tasks as per Duty Roster. - Answers telephone and handles all calls as instructed. - Participates in in-service workshops as assigned. - Performs other related duties as requested by the Residential Care Manager and/or Staffing Coordinator. **Work Schedule**: Must be available for Night Shift 11pm-7am Friday - Saturday. **Experience and Qualifications**: - Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent diploma. - Education and training in the field of Eating Disorders, Addictions and Mental Health preferred but not mandatory. - Eating disorder experience preferred but not mandatory (training will be given). - Must be able to read and write and communicate verbally and in writing. - Must be able to understand and follow directions. - Must have good hearing and eyesight. - Valid First Aid/CPR Level C. - Clear Criminal Records Check & Vulnerable Sector Search. - Valid proof of identity - Government issued photo identification. **Employee Benefits and Perks**: - Comprehensive benefits package, including a yearly allowance of $1,500 for mental health and addiction services, as well as $500 per service for various paramedical services, such as massage and physiotherapy - 24/7 Employee Assistance Program through GreenShield Health - Competitive paid time off policies, including a paid day off on your birthday - Access to in-house fitness facilities where applicable or discounted external gym memberships - Perks and discounts with Perkopolis - entertainment, home/auto/pet insurance - Personal and professional development through our Education Support Assistance program - Nationwide presence allows for supportive relocation opportunities - Defined Benefit pension through CAAT with up to a 4% employer contribution - Maternity and parental leave top-up - Access to discounts at Kids & Co.
