Rice Aggregates is hiring a DZ Driver to operate our Street Sweeper. This is an opportunity for drivers with little experience driving commercial vehicles, to start off in an entry level position with lots of opportunities to move to our heavy haul division.

Perform mandatory circle checks on trucks before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order

Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after job is complete

Operate communication equipment such as truck cab computers, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers

Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial regulations.

Must be professional, respectful & courteous when dealing with customers, general public and coworkers

Must be dependable and be able to manage time effectively to ensure maximum efficiency

Must keep equipment clean and in good condition (cleaning materials provided & report equipment deficiencies to onsite mechanics)

**Skills Required**:

- We require a good safety and driving record and the highest degree of dependability.
- Valid DZ driver’s license & clean Driver's Abstract
- Must be safety oriented and report to each shift with full PPE (CSA approved hard hat, safety shirt/vest & work boots)
- Able to drive using a manual transmission is considered an asset
- Able to work long days, flexible work hours & weekends
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, coworkers and dispatcher
- Must be able to follow directions and work in high traffic areas such as GTA
- Aggregate experience an asset
- Must speak fluent English

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift

Licence/Certification:

- DZ Licence (preferred)
