The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of all the grounds (landscaping, fencing, outside lighting, etc), building (interior and exterior, HVAC, plumbing, water, sewer, fire suppression, etc), machinery and equipment (production equipment, forklifts, cranes, welding, etc) at the Agassiz plant

**People Management**
- Recruitment of new employees including developing training plans
- Scheduling of staff to meet maintenance requirements
- Coach and evaluate staff and dealing with any performance issues as they arise including termination if necessary
- Conduct regular meetings with employees to provide updates on maintenance schedules and requirements

**Safety Management**
- Ensure all employees are following all safety procedures and protocols
- Updating of Safe Operating Procedures for all machines as required
- Ensuring all staff are up to date on training in Safety Sync

**Maintenance Management**
- Ensuring building and grounds are maintained to all requirements, company and regulatory
- Manage maintenance of all machines and equipment to maintain all in optimum working order for production
- Development and implementation of Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs for all machinery and equipment
- Development of maintenance inventory management for parts and required materials including developing part numbers for all required items related to all machines or equipment
- Continuous review of processes and procedures for improvement
- Maintain and manage complete work history of all equipment on site

**Position requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment in a maintenance supervisory role
- Intermediate level skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)
- Familiar with Computer Based Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Experience in Preventative Maintenance Programs
- Experience with WCB regulations and risk assessment
- Previous experience with ERP software (Syteline) an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal in challenging situations
- Ability to work independently or in a team
- Adaptable, flexible and able to work well under pressure
- Sound judgment and decision making ability
