What You’ll Be Doing

CIBC Capital Markets provides corporate, government and institutional clients with innovative solutions to raise capital and achieve their investment objectives across North America and in key global financial centers. Our goal is to be our clients’ preferred capital markets banking partner across multiple products and services.

As a Loan Syndications Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the entire loan syndication process, from origination through execution to ongoing portfolio management. Your responsibilities will include managing bank market data and preparing presentation materials, contributing to the structuring, marketing, and distribution of arranged and underwritten syndicated loan transactions. You will also help ensure the syndication process is efficient and effective. Working closely with members of the syndication and industry coverage teams (a “Deal Team”) and senior corporate bankers, the Loan Syndications Analyst will gain exposure to a broad range of loan syndication activities, including financial and credit analysis, market research, and transaction execution.

How You’ll Succeed- Analysis - Conduct in-depth bank market and portfolio analysis to support the syndication and credit relationships for a portfolio of clients and assist in analyzing new syndicated lending opportunities.- Credit Recommendations - Prepare sound, timely, and well-communicated recommendations for syndicated credit facilities, supported by thorough analysis and interpretation of financial, industry, and market information.- Internal Presentations - Prepare internal presentation materials, including transaction parameters and internal committee documentation, often collaborating with other product and industry groups within CIBC Capital Markets.- External Client Proposals - Play a key role in the preparation of external client proposals and pitch documents, including but not limited to bank market updates and syndication strategy slides for arranged or underwritten syndicated loans.- Transaction Execution - Support the end-to-end loan syndication process, including documentation, closing, and ongoing portfolio management.

Who You Are- You can demonstrate relevant experience. Minimum 1-year related experience; Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, engineering or other complementary business industry discipline.- You are an effective communicator. Excellent presentation skills, with ability to deliver focused, confident and a persuasive presentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain and interpret complex technical and conceptual information issues.- You are success oriented. Highly dedicated and motivated individual with high career aspirations. Able to assume significant responsibility within short time frames. You define success as helping clients address and execute on complex financial and strategic needs.-
