**In your role, you will**:

- Participate in developing strategies to optimize the claims process related to the construction project at Pearson
- Assess and categorize the potential claims in order to support high-level decision making.
- Conduct investigations with all parties in order to assess damages and liabilities including recorded statements based on best practices.
- Maintain electronic records that accurately and thoroughly document all claims.
- Draft reports and agreements for all claims with the support of the multidisciplined team
- Facilitate communications between IGS team and the Business Unit with regards to the claims and process.
- Lead / Support negotiations with the general contractor and sub-trades
- Prepare and present the claims progress through bi-monthly Governance.
- You have 3 to 7 years of claim experience, Insurance adjustor (an asset)
- You have a bachelor's degree or experience in Business Administration, Construction Management or equivalent
- You have legal and/or litigation background (an asset)
- You are familiar with contracts and contracting processes (an asset).
- You have excellent negotiation skills and experience in project management.
- You are a strong team player, recognized for your leadership and have strong analytical skills with the ability to mobilize the project team
- You have excellent oral and written English communication skills
- You are intermediate to advance in Microsoft Office suite
- You have knowledge of SAP and SAP Ariba (an asset) and/or you are familiar with ERP software handling, and Project Management software’s handling (i.e. Procore)
- You convey complex ideas simply through written reports and presentations
- You are proactive in identifying and validating consistencies and accuracy of financial information
- You can work with a minimum level of supervision and are proactive in proposing solutions and improvements
- Can work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
