**About Us**:
Kichton Contracting is seeking a motivated and adaptable individual to join our team. Kichton has been in business since 1963 and is classified as a medium-sized civil earthworks contractor. Our work ranges from residential earthworks, commercial site development, to industrial projects. Our services include grading design for all types of new commercial and industrial sites along with retrofitting existing sites to accommodate new site development.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Review, understand, and follow all safe work practices and procedures.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Safely operate heavy haulers, lowboys, and other trucks in and out of various sites around the city, often-times in tight or heavy-trafficked areas of the city.
- Load and unload equipment onto the trucks and ensure proper load securement.
- Complete daily documentation thoroughly, including: FLHAs (Field Level Hazard Assessments), timesheets, pre
- and post-inspections of all tools and equipment, and any other paperwork required.
- Ensure truck loads are acceptable and legal before leaving sites and/or onto the road.
- Report incidents, near misses, equipment damage, and hazards to Supervisors immediately.
- Positively participate in all toolbox talks and all applicable company/site meetings.
- Operating other pieces of equipment if trained and competent on them (including Tandem, Hydrovac, Water, and Slinger Trucks).
- Groundwork as required.

**Qualifications and Competencies**
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Valid class 1 driver’s license with air endorsements (with no restrictions) and clean 5 year abstract
- Must have 2 years of experience operating Class 1 vehicles in civil construction.
- Must meet company and client Alcohol and Drug screening requirements.
- Experience with operating all types of heavy equipment in order to load and unload the equipment onto a heavy hauler truck.
- Must understand the appropriate loads and trailer combinations to haul safely, effectively, and within legislated expectations.
- Must have experience with overweight/over-dimensional loads and proper load securement.
- Must have reliable means of transportation to and from work.
- Valid CSTS-2020 certification (can be provided for free through ACSA).
- Valid TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) and Ground Disturbance II certifications.
- Ability to use electronic devices (cell phone) and ability to adapt to new technologies and industry changes

**Work Schedule**:

- Monday to Saturday
- 10-12 hour shifts per day
- Overtime if required
