**The Opportunity**:The Building Operator, Level 2 is an intermediate level building operator providing operational and technical support as a member of a building operations team in Mississauga, Ontario. The Building Operator, Level 2 may be a sole operator of a building of moderate size and level of complexity as it relates to building systems and tenant demands. The primary objective of the Building Operator, Level 2 is to ensure that the assigned building or complex of buildings is being managed and maintained in a safe and environmentally responsible manner and to the highest level of operational efficiency.

**What You Will Do**:

- Perform testing, inspect buildings, and maintain documentation on building condition, drawings, etc.
- Work with contractors to complete repairs, obtain pricing and manage maintenance service agreements on site.
- Be a liaison with contractors for construction projects.
- Maintain climate / environmental control (BAS) and other mechanical systems within the building.
- Participate in the on-call rotation which may include all buildings in the portfolio.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the operations team.
- Oversee preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, lighting, electrical, elevating devices, roofing, and life safety systems.
- General maintenance including housekeeping such as sweeping, litter pick up, shoveling and pressure washing.
- Assist with environmental assessments, indoor air quality audits and other reporting studies / investigations.
- participate in corporate occupational health and safety program.
- assist with waste, recycling, and hazardous materials issues.
- monitor computerized control systems.
- respond to tenant service requests and provide excellent customer service when interacting with all tenants and the general public
- assist with insurance and risk management inspections, remedial actions, and reporting.
- remain current and up to date with new industry practices, legislative changes, and new technologies.
- Other assigned duties.

**Who You Are**:

- **Technical Qualifications** - The Building Operator, Level 2 shall have the following technical qualifications or industry equivalency:

- Must have BES Class 2 certification
- minimum of 3 years direct work experience in junior or intermediate position in commercial building operations.
- a valid driver’s license.
- Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office.

- **Organizational & Leadership Skills** - Ensure operations records, files and documentation are maintained in an orderly, accurate and timely fashion, sound administrative and organizational skills.
- **Decision Making Skills** - Ability to resolve problems using facts and sound reasoning; ability to achieve goals using logical and strategic approaches to resolving challenges.
- **Police Clearance **- A criminal verification check is required for employment
