Job Summary

The Manager, Travel and Relocation is responsible for the management of the corporate relocation and travel programs, including the ATC FAM flight program, corporate hotel directory, meeting and conference services. The jobholder develops and administers the program policies and provides guidance pertaining to these programs. The jobholder is responsible for the control of expenses related to each program.

In this role you will:

- Develop policies and provides guidance on matters relating to relocation, travel, ATC FAM flights, meetings and conferences to NAV CANADA employees, trainees and future employees
- Identify service providers and recommends selection of provider or services to senior management. The jobholder commits appropriate funds, prepares and negotiates the contract for the following services: travel provider (air, rail, etc.); travel agency; car rental; hotels; corporate travel and entertainment card; realtors; movers; ATC FAM flights; meeting and conference suppliers; event coordinators; audio visual providers; and catering services
- Control the following benefits which are governed by the policy related to the corporate relocation, travel and ATC FAM flight programs: isolated posts; kilometric rates; meal per diems; incidentals; lump sum allocations; Home Owner Assistance Plan (HOAP); Home Equity Protection (HEP); House Hunting Trips (HHT); and Temporary Duel Residence Allowance (TDRA)
- Determine the corporate relocation program budget and manages the travel program and ATC FAM flights program budget by developing budgetary plans and forecasting projections for future needs. Commits corporate funds for employee relocations, travel, ATC FAM flights and hotel programs, identifies the requirements for contract service providers as well as overseeing contractors including determining contract performance
- Serve on departmental administrative committees, representing relocation, travel, ATC FAM flights and meetings and conferences programs in departmental and interdepartmental meetings on administrative matters as required, including but not limited to the Allowance Committee of the NAV CANADA Joint Council.
- Provide direction to management and support consultations with representative of our bargaining agents regarding all NAV CANADA travel-related programs (relocation, travel, ATC FAM flights, meetings and conferences)
- Provide guidance to staff, develops performance and evaluation criteria, sets objectives, allocates priorities, assigns and assesses work, coaches and conducts performance appraisals.
- Be accountable for providing leadership and guidance to a small team of professionals.

What you bring:

- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in commerce or administration, or an acceptable combination of post-secondary education, training and / or experience
- Experience in managing staff (union and management) and the administration of general, financial and administrative services
- Experience in managing policies in a labour relations environment.
- Experience in developing, implementing and administering policies, procedures and practices
- Experience in negotiations and procurement processes
- Experience in the management of client relocation issues
- Substantive knowledge of travel and relocation management services and governing policies
- Knowledge of industry trends and developments
- Knowledge of human and financial resource management and NAV CANADA contracting policies
- Knowledge of NAV CANADA accountability framework, corporate values and principles and their relationship to achieving program objectives
- Excellent knowledge of industry suppliers (relocation, travel, conferences)
- Knowledge of the computer programs used within the corporate relocation and travel industry
