**Job Overview**

Z’gamok Legend Mining LP (ZLMLP), a subsidiary of Z’gamok Enterprises Inc., an Indigenous business fully owned by Sagamok Anishnawbek, provides a diverse range of services across multiple business segments including: underground and surface construction, shaft sinking, maintenance and development mining.

Z’gamok Legend Mining LP (ZLMLP) is recruiting a hard-working, self-motivated individual with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Development Miner.

The Development Miner will be responsible for drilling, blasting, operating mining machinery, and performing related duties in order to extract minerals, and to construct tunnels, passageways and shafts to facilitate mining operations.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Drill and blast headings (ramp, drift, crosscut) in accordance with layout and plans
- Ensure safe post-blast conditions
- Operate underground equipment including LHD, scissor deck, Kubota and Manitou
- Install ground support such as screen and rock bolts
- Scale heading and assess ground conditions for safety
- Perform mucking, ventilation checks, and general heading clean-up
- Conduct equipment pre-op inspection and basic maintenance
- Work safely and efficiently with mínimal supervision
- Communicate with supervisor and team members to ensure safe progress
- Performing pre-operational inspections and ensuring safe equipment operation
- Set up and operate drills to produce a designated pattern of blasting holes
- Set up and operate mining machinery to shear rock or ore from the working face
- Load explosives, set fuses, and detonate explosives to produce desired blasting patterns and rock fragmentation in underground mines
- Preparing faces, drilling with jackleg drill, loading, and blasting drift/ramp rounds ensuring line and grade
- Inspecting existing underground headings and scaling loose rocks while working according to work procedures and company policies within a safety conscious environment
- Read and understand mine prints to maintain line, grade, ground support, and services (air, water, and ventilation) for mine development
- Advancing services such as air, water, and ventilation systems
- Load and blast drift rounds; prepare faces for safe drilling practices
- Supply and maintain backfill distribution of sand, rock or other materials
- Complete daily paperwork accurately including timesheets, pre-operational inspections; ect.
- Assist with general labor duties when needed to complete mining projects
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Must have a minimum of 5 years underground development experience
- Must have common core 770010 and be registered with the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills (MTCU) (u0000, u0001, u0002, u0012)
- u0004 - Drill Rock, u0005 - Rock Bolt Ground, u0011 - Extend Services
- Minimum 2 years experience with six and or eight-yard scooptram operation in the mucking of material from a development face
- Ability to read and understand mine prints
- Experience with mobile equipment as suited for track drifts
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
- Ability to follow safe working procedures
- Understand and use the 5-Point Safety system and understand the SLAM System of Safety
