SSR Mining - Seabee Gold Operation is hiring for a Temporary Operator III.
About Your New Role:
Reporting to the Supervisor, Site Services, the Operator III, will be responsible for skilled work that involves the operation and inspection of surface equipment and machinery. The Heavy Equipment Operator III will operate wheel loaders, skid steers, forklifts, vac truck, 40-ton haul trucks and site bus.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Perform quality work as directed by Supervisor.- Takes responsibility for aspects of occupational health and safety, and environmental matters, over which the individual has control, including adherence to all requirements applicable to SGO.- Attend daily safety line up meetings.- Responsible for maintaining and inspecting equipment to ensure good working order and document conditions found prior to shift operation.- Continually monitor systems during safe operation procedures and report defective equipment or unsafe working conditions to Supervisor.
Your Knowledge and Skills:
- A positive and proactive attitude towards teamwork and safety.- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.- Effective organizational, time management, and analytical skills.- Self-motivated and can work with mínimal supervision.
Your Education and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ mining experience.- Minimum 2 years’ proven experience in heavy equipment operation.- Valid driver’s license (Bus Driver endorsement would be considered an asset).
About Our Working Conditions:
This position has a schedule of two (2) weeks on, two (2) weeks off at our remote camp in Northern Saskatchewan, working 12-hour days with possibility of unscheduled overtime required on occasion. You will be required to fly in fly out of the site on designated days from a pick-up point in either Saskatoon, Prince Albert or La Ronge.
