**Matcon Environmental Ltd** is one of the Lower Mainland's leading and most highly respected construction companies. Due to continued growth within our Environmental Division, we are currently seeking experienced applicants for a Excavator Operator position.

Experience in Environmental Construction is an asset, applicants must also have the ability to use small tools such as saws, hammers, drills, etc.

Applicants must have experience maintaining equipment, including pre-trips, inspections, maintaining fluid levels, and small repairs.

**Operator Requirements**:

- Completing all tasks safely,
- Accurately and efficiently cutting lines and grades for the installation of sewer, water, and conduit mainlines and services,
- Lifting and setting pipe and precast concrete,
- Backfilling and hoe packing,
- Experience trimming Shoring panels
- Bulk excavation and truck loading,
- Coordinating with the Foreman
- Shoveling tracks as required.
- Operators should also be well adapted to all types of adverse conditions such as extreme weather, project schedules, congested work spaces, etc.

**Essential Job Functions**
- Be a team player
- Proven experience operating several types of equipment (excavator, bulldozer, front end loader, telehandler, skid steer, etc.)
- Maintenance/ daily paperwork
- Mastered the following tasks:

- Legal loading of trucks - from stock pile & in-situ
- Safe excavation slopes, etc.
- Site organization and able to keep site neat
- Understanding of handling different soil types in wet& dry weather
- Understanding of grades
- Access and egress of site for trucks
- Bulk excavations, main line trenching, backfilling, hoe packing and hoe ramming‍
- Be able to recognize safety issues
- Must Contain a valid drivers license and be able to get to and from the job sites

**Salary**: $28.95-$40.93 per hour

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Coquitlam, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- heavy equipment: 5 years (required)

Willingness to travel:

- 25% (preferred)
