**KEY FUNCTION**:
Enter and verify orders based on purchase and shipping orders submitted by clients. Maintain inventory and distribute to clients as equipment and products arrive.

**REPORTING**:
Under the general direction of the Coordinator, Operating Room/Post Anesthetic Care Unit.

**DUTIES**:

- Receive shipments, stock and prepare hospital material and equipment to route through the warehouse for distribution to clients.
- Participate in inventory control procedures, order verification and other warehouse related functions in accordance with established program operating procedures.
- Maintain current file for pending purchase orders, shipping orders and packing slips.
- Assist with unloading of all supplies and equipment and verify all products against packing slip and review for damages.
- Participate in education and training specific to current, relevant federal and provincial health and safety legislation, standards and guidelines.
- Participate in hospital training as required.
- Assist with improvement initiatives as required.
- Perform other duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**EDUCATION AND TRAINING**:

- Minimum of a Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent (i.e. General Education Development (GED) or Academic and Career Entrance (ACE)).
- Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Six (6) months experience working in a customer service environment is preferred.

**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES**:

- Demonstrated strong mathematical skills and ability to compute simple calculations.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of hospital supplies and equipment.
- Demonstrated computer skills with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office software (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) and applicable patient information systems (i.e. Meditech).
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrated compliance with HSN’s privacy policy.
- Demonstrated commitment to the safety of co-workers and patients.

**PERSONAL SUITABILITY**:

- Successful Criminal Record Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC) is required.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Demonstrated professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.
- Demonstrated positive work record and good attendance record.
- Ability to meet the physical and sensory demands of the job.
