**Wildlife Caretaker Position**

Critter Care Wildlife Society is looking to fill a full-time Wildlife Caretaker position. Reporting to the executive director and Senior Wildlife Technician, we expect you to bring a passion and enthusiasm to the team, while assistant in the care and tending of wildlife in care. You will need a basic knowledge of biology and welfare and a high standard of husbandry for the care of wildlife. You need to be an energetic team player, with good customer service.
**Job requirements**:
- High school diploma or equivalent with further education in an animal related field. Preferable BSc.
- 2+years experience with wildlife handling and enrichment (Mammals)
- Valid Class 5 BC Drivers’ License with clean driving record
- Excellent customer service skills: patience, professional, positive attitude, attention to detail, adaptability
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent computer skills including use of word and excel
- Team player, working with each staff, intern and volunteer and building trusting and reliable relations
- Knowledge of animals, biology, and diseases.
- Previous internship with Critter Care Wildlife Society (preferred)
- Due to the physical aspect of the job able to lift heavy object (50lbs)
- Strong passion for conservation and welfare of wildlife.
- Must be a highly organized person
- Able to adapt to situation and deal with a high stress environment.
- Age requirement are 19+ with a valid Canadian SIN and valid working permit if International.
- Able to do injections SubQ and IM
**What you will do**:
- Provide high standard of care to a variety of wildlife in care. Including feeding, cleaning and bottle feeding etc.
- Administer medication under supervision of supervisors.
- Maintain the site including painting and minor maintenance.
- Support, teach and monitor the interns/Volunteers.
- Educate the public on conservation and wildlife rehab.
- In addition to other duties assigned.
**Salary**: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Langley, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Wildlife husbandry: 2 years (required)
