General Labourer

Toromont Cat is looking for a General Labourer to join our team The General Labourer, Facilities will support an industrial facility maintenance department by providing hands-on support and specific knowledge in facilities maintenance, operations and repairs through specialized training and expertise on specific systems and equipment used within the site. The General Labourer, Facilities will work inside the building and outside around the grounds keeping both the interior and exterior tidy and well organized including support with janitorial services.

**In a typical day, YOU will**:

- Assist Technicians with inspections, maintenance and repairs to equipment and systems as assigned both inside and outside our building including the general duties required to maintain buildings and grounds throughout the property
- Perform maintenance to HVAC Systems including roof top AHU, non-condensing hydronic heating systems and exhaust fan systems
- Perform repairs and renovations within the office facilities including workstations, desk arrangements, add ons, moves and changes to the interior spaces
- Conduct maintenance and/or repairs to specialized mechanical equipment including track presses, parts washers, automated high bay doors, lift equipment, floor scrubbers, power washing equipment, drain interceptors and “typhoons”, water systems and plumbing
- Work with outside contractors to assist with orientation, set-up and execution of their required tasks
- Inspect, test and perform daily rounds throughout the buildings and grounds including operational systems
- Assist and/or perform duties for janitorial services, including consumable supply inventory management and general maintenance
- Maintain snow removal, salting and sanding and safe access to the site as required
- Maintain test, logs and facility records
- Conduct general interior and exterior construction, drywall repairs, paint and trim as required
- Participate in workplace safety, environmentally sound and healthy behaviours and objectives at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy/Programs and best practices

**Must-haves for this role**:

- Post Secondary Education in the Skilled Trades and equipment specific OEM Training and maintenance experience in an industrial environment
- Trade Licence (Electrician, Electro Mechanical, Millwright, etc)
- 2+ years experience in facilities operations/maintenance department
- Willing and able, with experience, to work from all different heights and within confined spaces
- Customer centric with excellent communication, interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Self-starter, independent and a team player with strong initiative and organizational skills
- A sense of urgency and adaptable in a fast paced environment with constantly changing priorities
- Willing and able to work flexible hours including weekends in support of the business needs
- Basic computer skills with some Microsoft Word/Outlook proficiencies
- Any basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and carpentry would be highly beneficial
