**PLEASE NOTE: This is a casual position. Meaning there are no guaranteed hours. You are called in when someone is away from their regularly scheduled shift. We are looking for individuals who are flexible and willing to come in on short notice to nightshifts, dayshifts, evenings and STATs.**
- **Job Title**:_Mental Health Worker - Wakamow Place
- **Classification**:_Community Mental Health Worker
- **Position Summary**:_Reporting to the Director of Outpatient Services, the mental health worker is responsible for the safety and security of the facility, program continuity and providing supportive services to the tenants of Wakamow Place.
- **Duties**:_
Typical duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Assure the security of Wakamow Place including monitoring tenant compliance with program
- Provide assistance to tenants as part of their daily routine as required
- Dispense medications as required and assist in medication management
- Provide crisis intervention as may be required
- Provide support in the areas of the psychosocial education as required.
- Follow through with the Individual Program Plan of the tenant
- Assure appropriate records are completed in a timely manner, such as the staff log, tenant program log and contact notes and incident reports
- Provide information in the tenant log regarding the behavior, needs, and concerns of tenants.
- Participate in staff meetings and training
- Provide social and recreational opportunities to the tenant group
- Provide one to one supportive counseling for life skills
- Organize and conduct group sessions in areas such as skills training, interpersonal relationships and recovery education
- Provide training and management in areas such as cooking, shopping, budgeting and medication management as determined by the case manager
- Provide assistance to tenants as part of their daily routine as required
- Organize and participate in recreational activities
- Carry out relevant duties as may be designated
**Terms of Position -**_ **Mental Health Worker**_
Educational Requirements:
- Successful completion of secondary education
- Post-Secondary studies in the Human Service Field of no less than 30 credit hours or the equivalent.
- Consideration will be given to equivalency in education and experience.
**Experience**:
No less than one year in a setting with adults who experience severe mental illness.
Training:
Completion of PART, CPR, and FIRST AID
Workers in this position are expected to participate in training provided through the Association.
Hours of Work:
Shifts typically operate during the following hours: 8:00am - 4:00pm, 4:00pm - 11:00pm and 11:00pm - 8:30am. This facility operates 365 days a year.
Rate of Pay:
As per collective agreement letter of understanding
**Benefits**:
As per the collective agreement. Workers in this position are in a core funded program and are not considered to be project workers.
Worksite
All duties of work are performed at Wakamow Place.
Training may occur off site.

**Salary**: $16.79-$22.40 per hour
