Afterhours Dispatch Supervisor

The **Afterhours Dispatch Supervisor **is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of planning and Dispatch activities to balance the company service and financial objectives. They are also encouraged to establish processes and routines to ensure productive and profitable use of equipment and resources. The dispatch supervisor acts as a primary escalation point for customers and internal stakeholders with respect to service and operational performance issues.

**Responsibilities will include**:
**People**
- Coaches, trains, and mentor’s dispatcher and load planners.
- Conducts employee performance evaluations, establishes goals, and resolves performance issues.
- Schedules afterhours team to ensure appropriate coverage and service requirements.
- Assist and coaches’ dispatchers in the management of driver performance and relationships.
- Ensures a positive team environment between customers, drivers, and dispatchers.
- Communicates and provides constructive feedback as required.

**Financial**
- Accountable for the financial performance of the business dispatched by their team.
- Ensures achievement of key performance indicators.
- Identifies opportunities for increased profitability and cost savings.

**Customers**
- In conjunction with the Operations Manager, participates in weekly Management meetings.
- Primary escalation points for service and operational performance issues
- In conjunction with the drivers and afterhours team, establishes communication protocols with customers.
- Order entry, status reporting and problem escalation.

**Other Duties**
- Communicating with drivers regularly to ensure on time delivery, sending and receiving all information relevant to the driver performing his/her duties within the Company and customer requirements.
- Handling all driver related satellite messages or calls within assigned and overflow queues.
- Reporting and documenting of all customer service, planning and driver related issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Preparing customs clearance paperwork and ensuring it has been submitted the customs broker.
- Following up with customs brokers to ensure clearances are completed in a timely manner.
- Arranging and booking in repairs for in transit truck breakdowns.

**Qualifications**
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Proven team player with ability to align position goals with corporate strategic goals.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a dispatch or planning role required.
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience would be an asset.
- Some post-secondary education is an asset.
- Must be legally allowed to work full time in Canada.

**Shift**:

- Must be able to work 3PM - 11PM on weekdays and 7AM - 5PM on weekends.
