**Pastry Cook/Sandwich Artist (Vancouver)**

**Uprising Breads Bakery Cafe** is ready to add another Pastry Cook to our back of house production team. We are a popular, busy, community based business.

**Days and Hours**
- This will be a four to five day work week including all weekends.
- 32-40 hrs per week
- Start time is semi-flexible: between 4AM and 7AM.

**The Pastry Cook role**:

- 2 to 3 shifts per week
- scratch baking and decorating of cookies, cakes, squares and pies
- creating new products, and refinement of existing pastry recipes
- re-stocking the pastry display case in the morning
- producing all items in a professional and consistent manner
- baking off items for daily production

Equipment: The pastry cook/baker is responsible for safe use of all equipment:

- oven
- mixers
- sheeter/molder
- proofer
- scales

**Sandwich Artist role**:

- 2 shifts per week (Friday and Saturday)
- daily production of fresh sandwiches for both the refrigerated case and our warming oven
- prepare sandwich fillings and dressings

**General Responsibilities**:

- open communication with production team and other workers in the bakery
- helping to keep the production area a clean, organized and safe environment
- working with the production team to complete the daily tasks
- cleaning the area and preparing it for the next shift

**Requirements**:

- 1 year in a similar role **or**completion of a certified Baking & Pastry/Culinary program
- FoodSafe Level 1
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
- Preferred that applicant live in the Greater Vancouver Area
