**Job Description**:
ADGA Group Consultants Inc. is looking for an experienced IT Security Design Specialist to join our client's team and support their various IM/IT projects
Typical projects that consultants may be assigned to include, but will not be limited to:
- Implementation of new research facilities and associated infrastructure and research IT
- Development of high performance computing capabilities;
- Service or business process re-engineering and subsequent implementation;
- Development and of security or other architectures and subsequent implementations;
- Design and implementation of cloud service offerings for delivery of internal or external services;
- Support of project intake review and authorization processes.
The client's Knowledge Information and Technology Services (KITS) Branch works with internal clients and partners to deliver IM/IT solutions to support a wide range of research programs, scientific initiatives, industrial and academic collaborations, business development engagements, and internal services activities.
The scope of KITS’ IM/IT projects and initiatives may range from multi-year enterprise programs to operational enhancements of transactional services. KITS deliver many of these programs, initiatives, and activities leveraging consultants and contractors with funding provided by temporary sources and/or by clients.
**Tasks**:
- Contribute to task duration and completion date estimation of assigned tasks for project scheduling;
- Engage with security experts from CSE/TBS/SSC to develop solutions that are appropriately secure, as defined by Government of Canada security policy, without unduly limiting the agility needed to conduct a wide variety of research across diverse fields and with academic, industrial, or other collaborators;
- Develop materials and brief Sr. Executives on any risk-based decisions that may need to be made regarding the balance between cyber-security and other factors such as cost, agility needs for research, ability to collaborate, or other relevant factors;
- Conduct options and cost/benefit analysis of proposed solutions for alignment to GOC IT Security directives, policies, and standards;
- Assess levels of threat, risk, vulnerability, and sensitivity to issues and proposed solutions as applicable;
- Capture security requirements and document security architectural solutions as identified;
- Verify that security safeguards meet the applicable policies and standards;
- Review, analyze, and/or apply:
- Architectural methods, frameworks, and models;
- Secure IT architectures, standards, communications, and security protocols;
- IT Security protocols at all layers of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) and Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) stacks.
- Provide security architecture design and engineering support as required;
- Analyze security data and provide advisories and reports;
- Prepare technical reports such as requirements analysis, options analysis, technical architecture documents, and mathematical risk modeling;
- Provide IT Security risk management advice/guidance comprising of, but not limited to:
- Ensure compliance, alignment, and conformity of deliverables with Government of Canada (e.g., TBS, CSEC, PS, SSC) IT Security strategies, principles, methodologies, frameworks, programs, policies and instruments (directives, standards, guidelines), and procedures;
- Recommend IT Security risk mitigation strategies;
- Recommend remediation plans to achieve an acceptable risk level.
**Qualifications**:
- At least 10 years of professional work experience within the IT Security field within the last 15 years.
- Must have Federal Government **Enhanced Reliability **status
- Experience within the last five (5) years in an advisory/consulting role on enterprise-wide IT Security related issues to senior management
- Experience within the last ten (10) years designing security solutions for science or research-based organizations.
- Experience within the last ten (10) years designing IT security solutions in alignment with Government of Canada security policies.
- Currently holds one or more of the following IT Security Certifications:
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- CAP (Certification and Accreditation Professional)
- CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
- CSSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional)
- CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
- CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control)
