**Who We Are**:
Bowen Island Lodge is a premier event center located on scenic Bowen Island. We’re currently seeking experienced Event Assistants and Bartenders to join our team for events in in our lodge. Our goal is to provide exceptional service that enhances the customer experience at various special events.

**Types of Events We Staff**:
We staff a variety of events including conferences, workshops, retreats, weddings, and spiritual gatherings.

**Responsibilities**:

- Passionately demonstrate knowledge of our bar and menu offerings.
- Exhibit a strong interest in hospitality and customer service.
- Work effectively in a team, maintaining a positive and professional communication style.
- Display confidence and an eagerness to learn in a fun, social environment.
- Adapt to flexible scheduling based on event needs.

**Duties**:

- Prepare and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
- Deliver excellent customer service by interacting with guests, taking orders, and providing information on drink selections.
- Keep the bar area clean and organized, including washing glassware, cleaning surfaces, and restocking supplies.
- Accurately handle cash transactions using POS systems, adhering to proper cash handling procedures.
- Responsibly monitor alcohol consumption by guests, complying with all legal regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food service when applicable.
- Assist in training new staff on bartending techniques and food safety practices.

**Experience**:

- At least 2 years of serving experience is required.
- Minimum 1 year of bartending/mixology experience required, with additional experience in large event or wedding bartending preferred.
- Experience working in a hotel environment and/or with oval trays is an asset.

**Skills Required**:

- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 kg.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Reliable transportation to Bowen Island V0N 1G1; relocation may be required before starting work.

**Required Licenses/Certifications**:

- Serving It Right Certification
- Food Safe Certification
- Valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle

**Shift Details**:

- Varied shifts including day, evening, and as needed on weekends and statutory holidays. Minimum shift length is 4 hours, extending up to 10+ hours as needed.

**Dress Code**:

- Black dress pants, white or black collared long sleeve dress shirt, black socks, and black dress shoes.

**Compensation**:

- Hourly rate from $20 to $25, plus tips.
