Child Development Assistant, Kids Space

**Reports to**: It is the responsibility of the Child Development Assistant to report to the Program Director

**Primarily responsible for**: Supporting the CDS/CDW in planning and implementing childcare programs according to the philosophy of the childcare center, standards of Alberta Provincial regulations, accreditation standards, and other policies, acts, or regulations that may be applicable. In addition to planning and implementing teacher and child-centered activities, the individual will fulfill regular childcare, teaching, and housekeeping duties.

**Qualifications**:

- 50-hour orientation course provided free through various programs in Alberta (Online, Bow Valley, CIWA, etc.)
- Infant/Child C.P.R. and First Aid updated every 3 years.
- Flight Curriculum

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the room lead with both long
- and short-range activities in accordance with Kidz Space curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy.
- Build a positive professional relationship with parents and the community
- Maintain confidentiality
- Report any suspected abuse to Director
- Arrange a classroom environment in accordance with Kidz Space’s goals and philosophy
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials, daily cleaning and sanitizing of toys and furniture, and general room tidiness
- Attend staff meetings
- Participate in monthly fire drills
- Assist in hygiene care, lunch/snack, bathroom, and other routines
- Keep all appropriate records such as records, attendance, and time sheets.
- Meet all applicable licensing regulations and program policies
- Act as an ambassador for KIDZ SPACE always.

**Job Type**:Full-time

**Salary**:15.50 + Gov Top off

**Benefits**:Health, eye and dental (after 6 months)

**Schedule**:9 am to 6 pm

**Location**:Skyview
