**Job Description for a Quality Assurance Manager**

This position is an ideal opportunity for a Quality professional who is looking for a job with a great deal of variety, enjoys coaching people, making decisions and being a team leader.

**The Company**

We are a Canadian contract electronic design and manufacturing company. Our quality system is certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485. We design and manufacture medical instruments, machine controls, vending machine controls and much more. We are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team.

**Duties.**

The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out the following activities
- Join our company management team and participate in creating procedures and planning and growing our company
- Lead our Quality team.
- Maintain and update our quality procedures, work instructions and manuals to ensure that we continue to meet the requirements for our ISO 13485 and ISO9001 Quality system certification.
- Complete weekly KPI for our production department productivity performance
- Present production department defect and performance analysis at our quarterly meetings
- Lead our Health and safety team and update our Health and Safety procedures
- Participate in our Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium Health and Safety program
- Work with all members of our Quality Team including Internal Auditor and Production Engineers.
- Support our external auditor and customer auditors when they audit our facilities
- Attend weekly management meetings
- Act as the eyes and ears for the quality departments of our customers, and ensure that our staff always follow the procedures specified by our customers.
- Respond to customer notification of defects and requests for process upgrades or changes.
- Issue corrective action requests when defects occur.
- Carry out 5S and Lean manufacturing training for our production staff
- Provide IPC A610 and JSTD 001 training for our production staff
- Any other tasks required in our Quality and Management departments

**Qualifications**
- Quality Assurance - Manufacturing and Management course or equivalent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of 5 S techniques
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques
- Ability to lead and direct staff to meet all quality system requirements

**The following will be an asset**
- Experience in quality management in an electronic manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of surface mount assembly and through hole assembly processes
- Knowledge of optical and flying probe testing
- Knowledge of JSTD 001
- Knowledge of IPC A610

**If required, the successful applicant will be sent to the following training programs after approximately 6 months of successful employment**
- IPC A610 trainer course
- JSTD 001 trainer course
- SMTA Surface Mount Process Engineering course

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $32.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
