Vancouver, Canada SAP Full time

**We help the world run better**

SAP’s Global Technology Legal Compliance organization is focused on supporting our development teams to create innovation. Our global group is comprised of skilled software developers, legal and regulatory experts, and technology compliance analysts who work collectively to help product engineering meet the highest level of compliance standards.

We are looking for a manager to lead, mentor, and coach such a talented and diverse group in Vancouver. If you are a passionate individual who wants an opportunity to learn new topics (e.g., open-source governance, international trade compliance, intellectual property management) while honing your own expertise in the latest cloud development architectures (we run our systems on a microservices platform deployed with Kubernetes), then this is the right job for you

As a leader, you will help your team constantly improve by defining their development paths, setting realistic goals, and providing constructive feedback and regular performance reviews. You will also support your team in working with stakeholders across SAP to drive the continuous improvement of compliance tools, systems, and processes.

We focus every day on building the foundation for tomorrow and creating a workplace that embraces differences, values flexibility, and is aligned to our purpose-driven and future-focused work. We offer a highly collaborative, caring team environment with a strong focus on learning and development and recognition for individual contributions. Help us shape the future of our team

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
- Lead a team of individual contributors in Vancouver: manage the lifecycle of your employees - e.g. recruit/retain, develop/guide/motivate, and drive performance and detailed feedback
- Ensure the ongoing communication of company and organizational messages, objectives, goals and strategy to your team
- GTLC is recognized as an industry front-runner in our areas of expertise. Thus, we need someone who is eager to learn, results-oriented, forward thinking, and resourceful in bringing people together to innovate for the future.
- You will need to stay current on technology trends and understand how these trends may shape our team’s strategy and execution plans.
- You will actively participate in helping to drive our services across internal business areas and to help guide the continuous improvement of our business.
- This is not a fully remote work opportunity. However, the team shares in the Flex-Work philosophy of SAP, and we are very flexible in accommodating different scheduling needs of our employees.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- 5+ years of experience as a manager, with strong dedication to people development and mentoring
- 5+ years of practical engineering or compliance project experience that cover a variety of scenarios
- A proven track record of growing the individuals in your team into higher levels of expertise and responsibility.
- An innate ability to build strong bonds of trust with the people you lead.
- You have outstanding interpersonal skills and a high degree of personal initiative
- Create an environment of continuous learning and improvement, where people actively seek to coach and help with team and peer development

**We build breakthroughs together**

**We win with inclusion**

SAP’s culture of inclusion, focus on health and well-being, and flexible working models help ensure that everyone - regardless of background - feels included and can run at their best. At SAP, we believe we are made stronger by the unique capabilities and qualities that each person brings to our company, and we invest in our employees to inspire confidence and help everyone realize their full potential. We ultimately believe in unleashing all talent and creating a better and more equitable world.

**EOE AA M/F/Vet/Disability**:
Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to their age, race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, age, gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, et al), sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, protected veteran status, or disability.
