We believe that our community is strengthened by this diversity of perspectives. **Responsibilities**: Tutors will be responsible for providing individual academic tutoring sessions for LCS students who are seeking additional academic support. Upon request, students will be matched with an appropriate tutor based on their academic interest areas and potential to match schedules. **Duties will include**: - In person tutoring sessions with individual students on the LCS campus - _ Some virtual sessions can continue if it is decided that is the best method of connecting for a specific student._ - General study skills and learning strategies instruction when needed or requested - Specific curriculum support in high school courses where needed - Highest areas of need are in mathematics and sciences (especially Chemistry and Physics) **Skills/Education**: - Bachelor of Education preferred - Demonstrated ability to support curriculum concepts for Ontario high school curriculum, Grade 9 through Grade 12 university preparatory, and strong ability to meet the learning needs of individual students- Additional qualifications for and/or experience with teaching English Language Learners would be considered an asset **Schedule**: - Set and decided individually in conjunction with student schedule and availability - Common student request times include afternoons after school, evenings, weekends, or during a spare on a school day **Tutoring Dates**: - September 2024 to June 2025 **Rate of Pay**:$45.00/hour **How to apply**: - Lakefield College School is an inclusive, caring community.
